Residential Carport Installation
Secured with SP10 anchors
A typical 10' x 20' carport roof can generate up to 3,000 lbs of lift force in 75 mph winds. Asphalt yields to constant pressure, causing traditional anchors to fail quickly.
Our BoltHold™ asphalt anchors create a chemical bond that maintains holding power for years, providing a permanent anchoring solution that protects your investment against extreme weather.
Our anchors withstand extreme wind forces that would tear out conventional anchors
Our specialized anchors are designed specifically for asphalt surfaces, providing unmatched stability and protection for permanent carport installation.
Withstands extreme wind conditions that would tear out conventional anchors. Tested to resist up to 5,000 lbs. of pull force.
Simple drill, fill, and hammer flush installation process. No special tools or jackhammers required. Complete installation in minutes.
Unlike expansion anchors that crack asphalt, our anchors create a surface area bond that preserves the integrity of your asphalt surface.
Designed to withstand extreme weather conditions including heavy rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations without compromising holding power.
Backed by over 15 years of engineering expertise and real-world testing. Used by professionals in government and private sectors.
Perfect for carports, but also ideal for securing sheds, playground equipment, signs, and other structures to asphalt surfaces.
Anchoring to asphalt is fundamentally different from anchoring to concrete. Asphalt yields to constant pressure, causing traditional expansion anchors to fail within days as the material gradually gives way.
BoltHold anchors solve this problem by creating a chemical bond with the asphalt that remains stress-free. This unique approach provides holding power that lasts for years, even in hurricane-force winds.
View Installation GuideWhen looking for carport ground anchoring solutions, it's important to understand that not all surfaces are equal. Traditional ground anchors designed for soil or grass won't work effectively on asphalt surfaces. Our specialized asphalt anchors create a chemical bond with the pavement that traditional ground anchors cannot achieve.
Unlike generic carport tie-down anchors that work in soil, our heavy-duty asphalt anchors are specifically engineered for paved surfaces. When you need to secure a carport on asphalt, standard ground anchoring kits simply won't provide adequate protection against strong winds and severe weather.
These three packages are designed to meet industry standards for the most common carport configurations. Our pre-calculated solutions provide optimal anchoring for over 90% of standard installations on asphalt surfaces.

Follow these steps for a successful permanent carport installation on asphalt using our BoltHold anchors.
A typical 10' x 20' carport roof can generate up to 3,000 lbs of lift force in 75 mph winds. Without proper anchoring, your carport becomes a sail that can be torn away, causing damage and potential injury.
Unlike concrete, asphalt yields to constant pressure. Traditional expansion anchors that work in concrete will fail within days on asphalt as the material gradually gives way.
Our BoltHold anchors create a chemical bond with the asphalt that remains stress-free and maintains its holding power for years, even through extreme weather conditions. This makes them the ideal permanent anchors for carport installation on asphalt surfaces.
It is essential that there be no gap between the carport frame/plates and the anchor heads. Any gap will cause stress on the anchors as the bolts are tightened, leading to early failure. Use washers as spacers to eliminate any air gaps.
Do not exceed the allowed torque when tightening the bolts (200/280/720 lbs.-in for SP12/SP18/SP58 respectively). Avoid using impact wrenches; hand drill-powered wrenches are acceptable.
Steps 1-2
Steps 3-4
Steps 5-8
Use the carport as a template to mark the location of the holes on your asphalt surface.
Drill ¼" pilot holes at the marked locations. Once satisfied with the alignment, move the carport aside.
Redrill the holes with the specified drill size:
Thoroughly clean the holes to remove all debris using:
Fill the holes with EPX2 or EPX3 grout. Important: Do not remove the pre-installed bolts yet – they protect the threads.
Push the anchors into the holes until the heads are flush with the asphalt surface.
Allow 15-45 minutes for the grout to cure before proceeding to the next step.
Remove the bolts from the anchors and position the carport. Secure with bolts and washers.
Critical: Ensure there are NO GAPS between the carport frame and anchor heads. Use washers as spacers if needed.
Feature | BoltHold Asphalt Anchors | Traditional Ground Anchors |
---|---|---|
Surface Compatibility | Specifically designed for asphalt surfaces | Designed for soil, grass, or concrete |
Holding Power | Up to 5,000 lbs of pull resistance | Varies widely; fails quickly in asphalt |
Longevity | Permanent installation with chemical bond | Temporary in asphalt; loosens over time |
Wind Resistance | Withstands hurricane-force winds | Prone to failure in high winds when used on asphalt |
Installation Method | Drill, fill with adhesive, insert anchor | Typically driven or screwed into ground |
Important Note: When anchoring a carport to asphalt, traditional ground anchors will fail over time as asphalt gradually yields to constant pressure. Our heavy-duty asphalt anchors create a chemical bond that maintains holding power for years, providing a permanent anchoring solution for your carport.
Don't just take our word for it. Hear from customers who have secured their carports with BOLTHOLD™ asphalt anchors.
"Awesome product solves anchor problem! These are great and a relatively easy way to anchor in asphalt. Used SP10 + EPX3 for my carport and it withstood 60mph winds last month without any issues."
"Best In Class, I've tried pretty much every asphalt type anchor made and they all failed till now. Should have started with these anchors they will not fail you the epoxy is bulletproof strong!"
"I used these anchors to fix a temporary car shelter to my Asphalt driveway. We recently had a really bad windstorm. It was so bad that the steel cable that fixed the outer corners to the anchors snapped! Luckily the inner contact points were bolted directly into the anchors and are the only reason that structure stayed fixed to my driveway and in once piece. These anchors are fantastic and were easy to install."
Customer Satisfaction
With thousands of successful installations across the country, BOLTHOLD™ asphalt anchors have become the trusted solution for securing carports to asphalt surfaces. Our customers consistently report excellent results, even in areas prone to high winds and severe weather.
Have questions about using asphalt anchors for your carport? Our team of experts is here to help.
The number of anchors needed depends on the size of your carport and your local wind conditions. As a general rule, we recommend 8-12 anchors for a small carport (10'x10'), 12-16 for medium (10'x20'), and 16-24 for large carports (20'x20'). See our product section for detailed recommendations.
Yes! Our anchors are designed for easy DIY installation. You'll need a hammer drill with the appropriate bit (included in our installation kits), the anchors, and our proprietary grout. The process is simple: drill, fill with grout, and hammer the anchor flush.
Unlike concrete, asphalt yields to constant pressure. Traditional expansion anchors apply pressure against the hole walls, but as asphalt gives way, the friction steadily drops to nothing, causing failure within days. BoltHold anchors create a chemical bond that remains effective for years.
It's essential that there be no gap between the carport frame/plates and the anchor heads. Any gap will cause stress on the anchors as the bolts are tightened, leading to early failure. Use washers as spacers to eliminate any air gaps if needed.
BOLTHOLD™ asphalt anchors are made from corrosion-resistant materials and designed to last the lifetime of your asphalt surface. They maintain their holding power even through freeze/thaw cycles and extreme weather conditions.
