ADA Ramps

BoltHold anchors are often used when at least one end of the ramp is resting on asphalt. A common application is when the ramp high level is attached to the building structure, and the lower level is in a parking lot.

Ramps are a common use case for Bolthold Asphalt Anchors.

If the high level is firmly attached to the building concrete structure, use SP10 anchors for the lower level anchoring.  If the ramp is free-standing and supported by 4 or more posts, all of which are on asphalt, use the SP12 for a heavy (>300 lbs.) ramp and SP18 for a light weight ramp.  (Heavier ramps have more inertia and absorb more external forces due to their own mass.)

If the ramp is already set in place and anchoring needs to be added, consider using L brackets to secure the ramp sides.  For long ramps you might want to use shoulder bolts to allow the ramps to slide slightly against the anchor.  This will accommodate the expansion and contraction of the ramps under varying temperatures, and its bending when supporting heavy loads.
