How it installs
Drill a hole with a 7/8" bit, as deep as the anchor (6″), using a hammer drill.
Clean the hole: brush, blow, brush, blow.
Fill the hole with EPX2 or EPX3 adhesive. The adhesive calculator tells you how much.
Insert the anchor until it sits flush with the pavement.
Wait for the adhesive to cure (follow its cure time; longer in the cold), then bolt your post down.
About this anchor
SP10-38K is a set of six steel asphalt anchors rated at 1,500 lbs. pull. The 6" long 5/8" diameter anchors are designed to anchor bike racks, plates, fences, and outdoor furniture directly to asphalt surfaces. The anchor performs well in 2.5" shallow asphalt which is common in parking lots and walkways in the US.
We offer 2 variants - Zinc plated for normal usage, and Stainless Steel anchors for applications near potable water or high salt environment.
Both variants incorporates a 3/8"-16 UNC female thread. The anchor requires a 7/8" hole 6" deep and the use of a grout such as our EPX2 or EPX3. A 1.4" head at the top of the anchor prevents the anchor from dropping below the surface. The SP10 anchors are mounted flush with the surface of the roadway, so that attached devices can be removed without leaving dangerous screws or protrusions on the walkway.
STAINLESS KIT: The SP10-3SK is a set of 6 anchors, each pre-installed with a 3/8" x 1" SS bolt and 1" diameter SS washer.

Guide loads come from the low end of our test results, including hot pavement up to 120°F, for short-duration loads on anchors installed in 3″ asphalt. The side guide load is where the anchor starts to shift, not where it fails. They are guidance, not a certified rating. How we test

Questions
EPX3 or EPX2?
EPX3 is the better adhesive in every way and works in cold weather. EPX2 is an anchoring cement whose advantage is cost; use it at 45°F and above. We recommend EPX3 when it's typically below 45°F near you this time of year, and EPX2 otherwise.
Do I need the CG40 caulk gun?
Only if you don't already have a high-leverage or electric caulk gun. EPX3 needs a high-thrust gun to dispense.
